Guest today is JamYe WaXman, M.Ed. She has been dubbed "the nexxxt generation of sex educator" by Wired.com. WaXman, who has a Masters in sex education from Widener University, is a well-known and sought after educator and lecturer in the field of human sexuality and relationships as well as a sex writer, author, blogger, video host, producer and director. She is the author of the award-winning book Getting Off: A Woman's Guide to Masturbation (Seal Press) as well as the author of Women Loving Women: Appreciating and Exploring the Beauty of Erotic Female Encounters. JamYe contributed to the book Naked Ambition: Women Who Are Changing Pornography and is currently hard at work on her third book, Sex: A Graphic Guide to Sensual Pleasure. WaXman waxes poetic as a sex advice columnist for the LA Weekly's After Dark website, but has also had regular stints as the sex advice columnist for "Sex.Ed," appearing in Playgirl Magazine (from 2002-until January/February 2009) and "Hot Wax" in Steppin' Out Magazine (2002-2008). Her writing has appeared regularly on her own blog, JamYe WaXman: SeX Matters since 2003. JamYe has collaborated with adult film pioneer Candida Royalle as a producer and co-writer and has created her own adult education and erotic films as well. Her three-part video series, Personal Touch, was put out by Adam and Eve Pictures in 2007, and her latest educational film, 101 Positions for Lovers (Sensual Couples) has received praise from places like Fleshbot and Paul Joannides, Psy.D, author of The Guide to Getting It On. WaXman's resume is filled with other chapters too, like working as a consultant on HBO's the Katie Morgan Show and writing for magazines including Women's Health, Men's Health, Zink, AVN, Xbiz and online at RealitySandwich, Zug, and YourTango. Waxman sex advice video's appear on Cherry TV's Fresh Advice, Sex Health Guru and FortheGirls and she posts her own "reality" videos to her YouTube channel. When she's not writing or playing on camera, WaXman loves to conduct workshops on sex education for Generation X and Y, and travels the country doing just that! A former sex educator at the world-famous sex shop Babeland in NYC, JamYe has been quoted in publications including Self, Men's Health, Women's Health, Glamour, Cosmo, Jane, Heeb, Time Out New York and The NY Daily News. Back in the day, WaXman was a radio producer for the likes of Joan Rivers, Alan Colmes, Joey Reynolds, Bob Berkowitz and Chaunce Hayden. She is a former TV Producer on Naked NY (Metro TV). JamYe is President of Feminists for Free Expression and these days she spends a good deal of time living the sunny life in Los Angeles, CA.
